Privacy Policy

StickyFill is a Chrome extension that shows a floating sticky-note and autofill widget on web pages, so you can save information once and reuse it when filling out forms. This policy describes what data the extension handles and how it is used.

1. Information We Store

StickyFill stores two kinds of data, both entered directly by you inside the extension's widget:

  • Autofill information — name, email, phone number, links, work details, and any custom fields you add. This is saved with Chrome's built-in storage.sync API, so it follows you across Chrome browsers where you're signed into the same Google account.
  • Sticky notes — freeform text you write, or text you save via the right-click "Save selection to StickyFill note" option. This is saved locally on your device with storage.local.

2. What We Don't Do

  • StickyFill makes no network requests. It does not have a server, and nothing you type is ever transmitted anywhere.
  • It does not track your browsing activity or read page content beyond a form field you explicitly click "Insert" on.
  • It does not use analytics, telemetry, or advertising code of any kind.
  • It does not sell, share, or transfer your data — the only place it exists is your own browser, aside from Google's own Chrome Sync, which is controlled entirely by your Google account settings.

3. Permissions We Request

  • storage — saves your autofill fields and sticky notes so they persist across browser sessions.
  • contextMenus — adds the right-click "Save selection to StickyFill note" option.
  • Host permission (all sites) — the floating widget and its insert feature need to run on whatever site you're filling out a form on, since that can be any domain. StickyFill only reads the specific field you click "Insert" on, using data you already saved yourself.

4. Data Retention & Removal

Your data stays in Chrome's storage for as long as the extension is installed. You can delete individual fields or notes at any time from within the widget, and uninstalling StickyFill removes everything it stored.

5. Changes To This Policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Material changes will also be reflected in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
